Evaluation- Question 3

This is my audience response to the help explain the answer to: What have I learnt from my audience feedback?
I used 18 year olds (Sophie and Abbie) as this was my target audience. The answers they gave me have helped me gain the knowledge to do better next time.

Photoshop

This is my photo shopped image. I added the main photograph together with each different letters to make the song track by adding the images over the top. I also removed the green reflection of the grass using the eraser tool and blur to make sure it blended in. I am pleased with the final product.

Final images for Ancillary texts

I have chosen to use this use because I feel like the girl looks shadowed enough that you cannot see her face so it doesn't give anything away about the music video. We can tell its the same girl due to the prominent locks of hair and clothing. She is also moving her arms within the frame that the picture was taken giving a sense of wings. This connotes dying and going up to heaven giving the picture scary elements

Here are the letters I light trailed individually  I will add them all together using photoshop, editing how the letter appear and in what order. I chose to do my font in capital letters as all of chase and status songs/alums use this device.

Any other font i have within my ancillary texts will be yellow and it capital letters. I will be using yellow as this is the signature colour for Chase and Status as a band

Ancillary Photos

Following on with my ideas of light trails I decided to in cooperate this with my album cover and magazine image. The contrast of light and dark creates effective shadows therefore I believed that putting my character in the image connotes her in a dark time.

Here are all the photos I took using a Canon 60D 17-18mm lens with a 30 second shutter speed and running round her with torches to create the light trails

This is the tester shot to make sure there was no light pollution at our location that may effect the brightness of the trails.

I then practiced seeing how far I wanted my trail to start from and whether the shadow of the tree was effective

I then asked my actor to wave her arms around to give her the sense of wings, reflecting her death within the music video

I also tested her jumping and reaching out to see if this was effective. I was not keen on this as it made it hard to get her whole body in the shock.

This was my favorite image as shes very shadowed however, her sillouote is prominent. We have also used the 'wings' feature  however more subtly here so it doesn't give much away.

I also wanted the font on my poster and DVD case to be in light trails however, after writing 'let you go it ' it seemed more effective to do each letter seperately and add it using photoshop

Chase and Status CD cases

Chase and Status have a running theme of Black and white images together with yellow font. This effective as it stands out against the picture. Within my ancillary texts I will use a similar theme to show the relation to their other tracks keeping with their original themes.

Costume ideas

Main character:
I would like the clothing of my character to reflect her state and party lifestyle and what she was like before her meltdown.
Meltdown- Dark makeup will help portray the tiredness and drug use. She will wear very little clothing to show her status of 'sket.' a big coat will be effective here as shes outside it can be her comfort from home and show how much she needs everyone. Her wardrobe will be dark coloured to help reflect the negativeness in her life.

Father

I would like particular focus on the familys socail class. I believe by representing them as upper class will help present the rebelling society often sees to a strict upbringing. To reflect this he shall wear a shirt and suit trousers to give the impact he constantly works and her lifestyle is putting even more stress upon him.
